On Saturday, August 30th, 2008: Friends Across the Border did a vision-screening clinic in Yucaipa, CA at the Set Free Church.  Essentially those participating in the clinic met at the clinic location at 7:30am.  By 8:00am the clinic had started with the last patient leaving with their recycled eye glasses at noon.

Listed below is a synopsis of the day’s clinical findings:

Ø      146 patients were seen for the day.

Ø      Of the 146, 7 needed no prescription, 2 needed their prescription made at the optical lab and the balance received recycled eyeglasses.

Ø      2 patients were identified as having glaucoma and referred for treatment.

After the equipment and eyeglasses were repacked, we departed for the New York Pizzeria for some food and fluid.  It was a nice day for those involved directly with the clinic and greatly appreciated by the recipients.

FAB extends a heartfelt thanks to all of those who work behind the scene to make this project a success.
